How we work

The method behind the madness

01

Remove the wheels

Park up and we’ll remove the wheels, tyres, valves, weights and sensors.

02

Strip & clean up

Wheels are dipped in our eco-friendly chemical solution to strip away the existing finish and breakdust until entire wheel is fully stripped back to bare aluminium.

03

Shot blasting

The wheel is sandblasted in our purpose built blasting cabinet for deep cleaning and corrosion removal. It also prepares the surface for step 4.

04

Inspection

It is now much easier to see if there are any cracks or structural damage to the wheels. They are tested on a balancing machine to check for any bends or buckles and will notify you if there is any damage to the wheel deemed to be dangerous, and advise on repair or replacement.

05

Structural repairs

We have advanced techniques in straightening of bent, buckled, dented or cracked alloy wheels. We can also spot repair small areas rather than the full refurbishment.

06

Prep for paint

The next step is selective machining to remove all kerb damage from the surface of the wheel (if the damage is very deep it can be filled with aluminium and welded to return it to its original shape).

07

Painting

The wheel is placed into our oven for preheating. After this, a new powder primer is applied. The wheels go back into the oven for the curing process. Once cooled the colour, powder coat and clear lacquer is applied. A final bake in the oven hardens the coatings and ensures a full cure.

08

Balancing

After repaired, the wheels are fitted with new valves. The tyre is then refitted to the wheel and balanced using weights stuck to the inside of the wheel.

09

Final fit & checks

The wheels are fitted to the car and final checks are carried out including tyre pressure and wheel bolt torque and tightening. Job done.

10
